Special Ensembles

FSPA students with a passion for the stage often choose to pursue our special ensembles. Our performing ensembles, selected by audition, offer exciting on stage opportunities for our most committed and talented young performers. They offer a more intensive study of the performing arts and the camaraderie of ensemble participation.

FSPA Performing Troupes

Musical Theater performing troupes at FSPA include Broadway Light, Broadway Bound, Broadway Ladies, BLT2 and Lite Brites.  These groups take the stage at FSPA performances, events and showcases throughout the year. FSPA's senior troupes travel to Disney World every year where they are very well received in the Disney Performing Arts program. The students perform on Disney World stages and take classes with Disney performers and directors and are regularly selected for unique experiences like meeting the Finding Nemo or Beauty and the Beast cast or having a Q & A with Disney’s Mary Poppins on Broadway, Ashley Brown.

FSPA Dance Ensembles

The FSPA Dance Company, Classical Ballet Ensemble, Disney-bound CenterStage and our junior dance ensemble Next Step, are selected by audition in the fall. The dance ensembles meet on a regular schedule to prepare performance repertoire for FSPA productions, outside invitations and community performances. The FSPA Dance Company features the school's most advanced dancers who enjoy working with guest choreographers, expanded performance opportunities, and travel options to local dance conventions and FSPA’s annual New York City weekend, as well as field trips to performances and master classes.

FSPA Instrumental Ensembles

Chamber music groups are recommended and organized by the Music Department faculty for rehearsals and recital programs of classical music, while players interested in jazz, pop and rock are grouped for jam sessions, rehearsals and performance throughout the year.

FSPA Glee Club

Glee Club is a performance-based class that focuses on tight harmonies, rhythmic nuance and emoting a song as a soloist and as an ensemble. Glee Club also provides the perfect setting to continue work on ear training and sight-reading skills, increasing the level of musicianship from its members. Glee Club performs as FSPA events throughout the year. Students must be concurrently enrolled in Voice II or above and have the recommendation of their teacher.
