Important Update- July 26, 2020

Dear FSPA Families,

I am writing to inform you that a student who attended classes last week at FSPA has tested positive for COVID-19.  The student was asymptomatic while in attendance and remains so.   I am receiving support and guidance from the Franklin Board of Health and I will follow up with you after an early morning meeting tomorrow.  Out of an abundance of caution and to allow ample time, I am closing 38 Main Street and THE BLACK BOX on Monday, July 27th in order to conduct a thorough cleaning and sanitization of our facilities.  Monday’s lessons and classes will be rescheduled to Friday this week.  This summer’s Cabaret Camp will be postponed in order to provide the full camp week and performance.

FSPA follows the Mass.gov/Reopening Massachusetts guidelines issued by Governor Baker and our complete COVID-19 Control Plan is available on our website.  Face coverings are worn by students and staff at all times, including in dance classes, and students are distanced when seated, as well as when participating in classes.   During camps, masks are removed to eat lunch with seats set at a social distance.   As many classes and rehearsals as possible, as well as lunch and fresh air breaks, are conducted outside.   Our largest spaces are being utilized for classes with class limits and stable groupings for camps are in place.  Windows and doors are open to encourage air circulation.   Our daily protocol includes cleaning and sanitizing commonly touched surfaces every two hours throughout the day.  Studio interior commonly touched surfaces including ballet barres, pianos,  and music stands are cleaned by each teacher between classes.

We are confident in the precautions we have taken and will continue to take at FSPA as we work to stop any spread of virus in our school and community.   We appreciate your support in these challenging times.

Best,

Raye Lynn
