Lizzy Stant Joins Voice Faculty

Welcome to the FSPA Voice Faculty, Lizzy Stant!

Lizzy Stant, Soprano, received a M.M. in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from the New England Conservatory of Music.

A classically trained coloratura, Lizzy has experience with opera, musical theater, jazz, and pop. She has performed many roles, including: Rapunzel in Into the Woods, the Sour Kangaroo in Seussical the Musical, the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella, Mrs. Jones in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, and the Fire in Ravel's L'enfant et les Sortileges. Passionate about performing new music, Lizzy has commissioned three new pieces in the past year for Lili Tobias, Thomas Whitman, and Ian Weiss.

Lizzy believes that music education is a powerful way to bring people together, build self-confidence, stay mentally and physically healthy, and have fun. Using science-based pedagogy, Lizzy focuses on helping students build flexibility in their voice and make consistent technique choices to fulfill their vocal aspirations. She emphasizes an individualized approach to teaching and invites feedback through all steps of the teaching process. A member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Lizzy is engaged with research in vocal pedagogy and has spent the past year researching vibrato characteristics in aging singers. Lizzy loves working with students of all ages.
