Children’s Musical Theater
This class for students in grades kindergarten and first is the beginning of formal musical theater instruction. With an introduction to basic skills in acting, singing and dancing, no previous training or experience is required. This is a good performance-oriented class with good attendance required in addition to learning lyrics and reviewing choreography at home, if necessary.
 
Class Schedule: Monday 3:45; Thursday 4:30 (45 minutes)
 
Musical Theater I
Musical Theater I for students in grades 2 & 3 is a class in which acting, singing and dancing techniques and styles will be reinforced and explored. More involved performance pieces and materials will be introduced to students. Good attendance and commitment to learning more advanced material is required.
 
Class Schedule: Monday 4:30; Tuesday 3:30;  Wednesday 3:30
 
Musical Theater II
Musical Theater II for grades 4 through 6 builds on the skills learned in both Children’s Musical Theater and Musical Theater I with great emphasis placed on performance preparation.
 
Class Schedule: Monday 5:30; Wednesday 5:30
 
Musical Theater III
Musical Theater III for grades 7 & 8 builds and expands on the skills learned in earlier musical theater classes. Students will be introduced to more advanced musical theater songs and incorporate scene work into their studies. Musical theater history and legends of the Broadway stage will also be discussed.
 
Class Schedule: Wednesday 6:30; Thursday 6:30
 
Musical Theater IV: 
Musical Theater IV is designed for the high school student who is truly interested in the performance and history of musical theater. Students will present songs and scenes in class and learn techniques for both speaking and singing in character. They will study and research musical theater history and the legends of the Broadway stage. Work outside of class will be required.

Musical Theater for Adults
This performance-oriented class is for those interested in improving stage presence, singing skills, audition techniques and movement/dance skills. Adult students will work on excerpts from standard musical theater repertoire. No prior experience is required.

PERFORMANCES
Students in Children’s Musical Theater and Musical Theater levels I through IV are invited to perform in a mid-year musical theater showcase and in Spring Concert.
 
Musical Theater Dress Code: Comfortable clothing (pants, shorts, sweatpants-no dresses or skirts); flip flops or backless shoes are not allowed in class. Hair should be pulled back.
